Objectives: To effectively tackle the needs of this target group, the IDEAL project proposes the following objectives for the Greek pilot:

1. Native language empowerment: Empower visually impaired people through access to information and services in their native language.

2. Technology-Driven Accessibility: Improve the accessibility of information, civic, and community resources through the provision of technology and tools developed to complement offline participatory processes.

3. Multilingual Deliberation Skills: Equip the visually impaired with the ability to deliberate in multilingual environments on par with their less disadvantaged counterparts.

4. Peer-to-Peer empowerment: Build a supportive community among visually impaired individuals, and foster a sense of shared empowerment within the framework of cultural, labour, and educational accessibility.

5. Accessible information hubs: Provide information resources that are easily accessible to visually impaired people.

Primary Target Group: Visually impaired individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds, including but not limited to Braille users, users of screen readers, and individuals with varying degrees of visual impairment.

Key Activities: A range of methodologies will be implemented as part of the deliberative piloting process, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity at every stage.

Expected Outcomes: The pilot will benefit visually impaired individuals, and will significantly enhance their engagement in societal and political life. Firstly, an increased level of political literacy among participants is anticipated as they gain a deeper understanding of EU laws and values through accessible educational materials and deliberative discussions. Secondly, the pilot will foster a sense of community and solidarity among visually impaired
individuals across different linguistic backgrounds, breaking down isolation barriers and promoting peer-to-peer empowerment. Ultimately, participants in the pilot will become fully integrated and recognized as active, contributing members of the political landscape.
