On 27th November, the IDEAL consortium took an important step towards inclusivity by meeting with Independo, a small but innovative startup dedicated to integrating people with intellectual disabilities into the digital world, therefore helping them be independent.
While many large organizations have taken steps in accessibility, for example, Apple’s strong support for blind users, intellectual disabilities often remain ignored. Independo is determined to change this. Their mission is to create software solutions that empower individuals with intellectual disabilities, giving them the tools to participate more fully in society and enjoy greater freedom.
The collaboration between IDEAL and Independo promises to be transformative:
For IDEAL: The consortium will be able to exchange with the Independo team regularly to make the IDEAL solution more accessible and even test its platform directly with Independo’s users, ensuring that its technologies are inclusive, practical, and impactful.
For Independo: The startup will gain access to IDEAL’s state-of-the-art technologies, research expertise, and innovation support, strengthening its ability to deliver the best solutions.
This partnership is the best example of how collaboration between research projects and startups can accelerate progress. By combining IDEAL’s knowledge and resources with Independo’s vision, both stakeholders are working toward a shared goal: greater inclusion for all individuals, regardless of disability.
The IDEAL – Independo partnership it’s a commitment to breaking barriers and ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital age.
