The IDEAL project added real value to the conversation on digital transformation and collaborative innovation during the Erasmus+ IMMER-CV Final Event. Organized by INNOPAC in Valencia and streamed online, the hybrid conference marked the successful conclusion of IMMER-CV’s 18-month mission to deliver a groundbreaking training curriculum on immersive technologies for the Cultural and Creative Sectors (CCS).

Prof. Charalampos Alexopoulos, representing the IDEAL consortium from the University of the Aegean, inspired audiences with his keynote ‘Wired for Innovation: Bridging Human and Digital Realms for a New Creative Future’. He spotlighted the synergy between technological progress and societal impact, stressing how partnerships between cultural leaders and technical experts fuel digital innovation and entrepreneurship. His message resonated deeply with IDEAL’s vision: leveraging AI and language technologies to break barriers and empower every citizen to participate meaningfully in our digitally transforming world.

As Prof. Alexopoulos noted, “The challenge in the digital age is not just building new tools, but ensuring these tools serve an inclusive, collaborative future.” He added that IDEAL’s involvement in the IMMER-CV Final Event reaffirmed that, whether addressing democratic participation or the preservation of cultural heritage, the most impactful innovations emerge at the intersection of human insight and digital capability.

The IMMER-CV conference offered an excellent forum to explore how interactions between people and technology can be optimized to address current societal challenges associated with digital transformation. This aligns closely with IDEAL’s focus on linguistic and digital inclusion in democratic processes. Both projects share a fundamental belief in technology as an enabler of wider social and professional engagement.
