IDEAL Organised a Workshop at the House of Refugees in Paris

In Paris, La Maison des Réfugiés (House of Refugees) is an emblematic space: a resource center dedicated to learning, support, and socio-professional integration. It promotes solidarity and inclusion, while raising awareness about exile and migration, making it the ideal venue for the IDEAL workshop organized by Relais Culture Europe in November 2025.

The IDEAL session adopted a cultural and artistic tone, in line with the mission of Relais Culture Europe. The discussion was grounded in the conviction that democracy is strengthened when cultural and artistic participation is recognized as a core component of citizen engagement. This choice was also guided by the belief that it is crucial to associate artists in the shaping of democracy, to help citizens reconnect with political life. 

The workshop gathered artists, local democracy professionals and a researcher to collectively map the potential users of the IDEAL application, in order to understand their profiles, needs and participation practices. The aim was to analyze the roles, expectations and interests of all relevant stakeholders, from citizens and cultural actors to local structures, developers and public authorities, and to identify the key conditions and success factors that will make the IDEAL application usable and inclusive.
