Strength and Solidarity: Inside Caritas Vienna's Women's Dialogue Groups

In Austria, our partner Caritas Vienna successfully started their women dialogue groups last month. Small groups of women, mainly Dari and Arabic speakers, meet every two weeks to discuss topics of interest and test the IDEAL platform and app.

The first meeting was all about getting to know each other and sharing life stories filled with strength and inspiration as well as a first touchpoint with the IDEAL tools. The second meeting centered around challenges in finding a job, getting certificates and qualifications accredited as well as difficult interactions with public services.

What unites all the women is their incredible resilience and solidarity with each other. One of the participants poignantly summarized their experience: “As women we simply have no option to give up, we need to keep going, for us, for our children, we have to be strong!”. Therefore, the next meeting will be all about Empowerment and sharing ways of helping each other as well as legal and public options to get support in the face of discrimination.
